Deepwater & Wilson Walton Form Technical Alliance
04.20.04 --
Deepwater Corrosion Services,
Inc. (Houston, Texas, USA) and Wilson Walton International (Wall, New
Jersey and Houston, Texas, USA) have entered into a technical alliance
to further ongoing improvements in offshore cathodic protection (CP)
technology. Wilson Walton’s Houston-based anode foundry will be the
exclusive supplier of sacrificial anodes for Deepwater. Similarly,
both companies will work closely together in the development of new
sacrificial anode technologies designed to continue the trend of cost
and performance optimization pioneered by Deepwater.
Deepwater’s President, Jim Britton,
states, “This is very exciting; to have an alliance with such an
experienced, quality-conscious anode foundry right in our backyard,
who adds considerable value vis-à-vis our emerging technologies for
the retrofit of existing offshore infrastructure, as well as new deep
water construction. This is a formidable team.”
According to Wilson
Walton’s President, Mike Long, “We’re very pleased with the
opportunities afforded by this alliance. Deepwater is generally
recognized to be one of the cutting edge technology companies in the
offshore CP industry. With our new facility and equipment in Houston,
and their creative design concepts, the timing is perfect for forging
a long-term relationship dedicated to providing affordable and
innovative corrosion control solutions to the oil & gas industry in
the Gulf of Mexico.”
