Wilson Walton International was founded in 1959 by two of the renowned pioneers in marine corrosion control, Tony Wilson of England and Robert Walton of the USA. Together they established a network of sales and service offices in all the major shipping capitals in the world.

In 1982, Wilson Walton replaced its industry-standard Aquamatic Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) System with the first computer-controlled system, the widely acclaimed Aquamatic II. This new system ushered in the digital age of marine corrosion control, permitting a higher degree of precision than existing analog systems.

In 1984, the Company opened its foundry in Houston, Texas for the production of sacrificial anodes. During 2000 the foundry produced 1.8 million pounds of aluminum anodes in addition to 1.6 million pounds of zinc anodes for shipping, offshore and industrial applications. In 1995, the Company opened a service office in Norfolk, Virginia to handle the high volume of ship repair in that region.

In 1996, Wilson Walton unveiled the first network-based intelligent ICCP system, the Aquamatic III, to replace the standalone computerized systems of the past. It was an immediate success and is now in use on oceangoing vessels all over the world. In 1997, the Company introduced the Aquamatic III Workboat ICCP System, to meet the need for a similar yet economical system for smaller vessels, such as tugs, ferries, fishing boats, pilot boats, patrol boats, supply boats and dinner boats.

In 1999, the Company designed the Aquamatic III IP Logger, which automatically records and uploads all ICCP system readings to the ship's computer for email transmission to Wilson Walton and/or owner's office for monitoring and analysis.

In 2000, we introduced the ClearFlo Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) to protect seachests and seawater circulation systems from fouling and corrosion.

Wilson Walton continues to refine and improve it products, staking equal claim to the history and future of marine corrosion control.
